What is During-Production Inspection (DPI)?
During-Production Inspection (DPI) is a random on-site check performed when 20–30% of the order is packed and ready, but before the bulk of the run is finished. It is the single most cost-effective inspection for medium and large orders, because defects found at this stage can still be reworked without delaying shipment. CGF inspectors visit the factory, draw a random sample from finished stock, run an AQL-based check, and report within 24 hours.
Key Benefits of During-Production Inspection (DPI)
Third-Party
We are not affiliated with any factory or trading company. Our reports are unbiased and your customers can rely on them.
Bilingual
Full inspection report with high-resolution photos, AQL calculation and clear Pass / Fail verdict uploaded within 24 hours of the visit.
Sampling
Inspections follow ANSI/ASQ Z1.4 (ISO 2859-1) standards. You choose the AQL level; we apply it consistently.
Insider
Inspectors in every major manufacturing hub across China, Vietnam, India, Bangladesh, Indonesia, Cambodia and the Philippines.
Transparent
One fixed daily rate per man-day. No hidden charges, no commissions, no kickbacks.
When Should You Consider a During-Production Inspection (DPI)?
- Order quantity is 1,000 units or more.
- Product has a moderate-to-high defect risk (complex assembly, multiple components, softlines with prints).
- You want confirmation that the factory’s inline QC is actually working — not just claiming it is.
- You want a second pair of eyes before committing the rest of the production deposit.
What Does CGF Inspection Check During During-Production Inspection (DPI)?
Quantity & Production Status
- Total ordered quantity vs quantity already produced vs quantity in process.
- Daily output rate compared to the production schedule.
- Forecast finish date compared to your required ship date.
Random Sample Inspection (AQL)
- Sample size selected per ANSI/ASQ Z1.4 or ISO 2859-1 at the AQL level you specify (commonly 1.0 / 2.5 / 4.0).
- Each sampled unit inspected for: quantity per carton, assortment, style, colour, size run.
- Defects classified: Critical / Major / Minor.
- Pass / Fail decision based on the Accept / Reject numbers in the AQL table.
Workmanship
- Construction, stitching, bonding, welding, assembly integrity.
- Surface defects: scratches, dents, blemishes, contamination.
- Colour consistency across the run (no visible batch-to-batch shift).
Function & Performance
- Powered-on test for electronics.
- Mechanical function for moving parts.
- Pull / drop / torque tests for hardlines where applicable.
On-Site Tests
- Carton drop test on a sample carton.
- Tape adhesion and label legibility check.
- Polybag and desiccant presence where required.
Packing & Marking
- Inner packing matches the spec (quantity per inner pack, polybag, tissue).
- Master carton markings: bar code, shipping marks, side marks, country of origin.
- Shipping marks exactly match your PO and the carton label on each carton.

Industries We Cover
Where We Operate
Zhejiang, Jiangsu, Shanghai, Guangdong (Dongguan / Shenzhen / Foshan), Qingdao, Sichuan and other manufacturing hubs across China, plus Vietnam, India, Bangladesh, Indonesia, Cambodia and the Philippines.
Inspection Standards We Work To
We apply internationally recognised standards for every assignment.
| Standard | What it covers |
| AQL (Acceptance Quality Limit) | Defines the maximum number of defective units acceptable in a random sample — the basis of our sampling plan. |
| ANSI/ASQ Z1.4 | U.S. standard for sampling by attributes (single, double and multiple sampling). |
| ISO 2859-1 | International general standard for sampling by attributes, equivalent to ANSI/ASQ Z1.4. |
| ISO 9001 | Quality management system certification checked during factory audits. |
