CGF During-Production Inspection for forging parts
CGF offers professional During-Production Inspection (DPI) service for metal forging parts in mid-stage of manufacturing. Our inspectors go to factory to witness production procedures as customer requirements, carry out PMI spectroscopy material verification, dimensional measurement, visual defect inspection and witness mechanical property tests. Early quality control during production effectively prevents batch defects, material mix-up and non-compliance finished goods. Main checkpoints for forging parts during-production inspection:
• Witness key production procedures: billet heating, forging forming, rough machining and heat treatment as requested.
• Perform PMI spectroscopy test to verify raw material chemical composition meets specification.
• Measure blank dimension, forging allowance, contour shape and machining tolerance against drawings.
• Inspect surface quality: forging crack, fold, inclusion, oxidation scale and deformation.
• Witness hardness, tensile or impact testing if required by clients.
• Take full onsite evidence and issue formal English during-production inspection report.
CGF During-Production Inspection for Forging Parts
Complete Forging Parts During-Production Inspection Checklist
Inspectors witness critical processes including billet heating, die forging, shaping, rough turning and heat treatment following customer witness requirements. Record production parameters and process stability.
Conduct portable spectroscopy / XRF PMI test on forged blanks to confirm chemical composition, effectively avoid wrong material grade and raw material substitution.
Measure overall length, outer diameter, step dimension, fillet radius and forging surplus. Compare all measured data with technical 2D drawings.
Check workpieces for forging cracks, lap folds, shrinkage cavities, slag inclusion, heavy oxidation scale and abnormal forming deformation.
On customer demand, our inspector witnesses hardness test, tensile test, impact test and metallographic examination, records data and captures testing photos.
All site photos, spectroscopy records, dimension data and defect evidence will be collected into a detailed English during-production inspection report for your review.
